This place is beautiful, the rooms are very comfortable, being just at the side of the river with hippos was all one can imagine when looking to connect with nature. River Edge Lodge—
Nestled in the lush banks of the Talek River, River Edge Lodge is 3 km from the Talek Gate and 2 km from the Mpuai Barrier, allowing our guests alternative access to the reserve for better game viewing. Nearest Airstrip is Olkiombo, a 30 minutes safari transfer from the lodge. Alternative Airstrip is Keekorok approximately 01 hour transfer. By road – Access the reserve at the Sekanani gate, drive through, exist at the Talek gate & proceed to the lodge. The River Edge lodge consists of 3 stand alone rooms and a 2 bedroom family unit all facing the Talek River. The lodge can be able to accommodate up to 10 guests in spacious open rooms with queen size beds, in all round full length glass doors. Natural stone floors, tent roofs with shade netting to keep the rooms cool in the afternoons.
Glass walled dining and lounge area with an indoor fireplace. All rooms & lounge area have unobstructed views of a Hippo and crocodile pool on the Talek River. The side doors open up for an in-door outdoor feel.
Meals are set up for 10 guests in the dining area or on the edge of the river under tree canopy. The lodge has a cosy lounge area complete with an indoor fire place where guests can enjoy board games or relax with a book. Accommodation cost include all 3 meals and 4 O’clock tea. Purified drinking water is also provided at the table. Bottled water, soft juices & alcoholic drinks are available at an extra cost.
Square 3 pin power sockets with USB charging points are available in the rooms. Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and we provide a pair of binoculars in each guest room for use while on game drives.

For late departures guests would need to check out of the rooms & would be hosted the main areas. This may not be possible in the busy season and would be subject to availability:
NB: Mara reserve fees now valid for 12hrs and guests departing on schedule flight would need to be at the airstrip by 11:00hrs or pay additional reserve fees.
